No. 1 |
Greetings and welcome to the first on-line newsletter for Oregon 150, the non-profit corporation charged by the Governor with planning Oregon’s sesquicentennial commemoration in 2009.
You
are receiving this message because you have expressed interest in
Oregon’s sesquicentennial. We would appreciate it if you would contact
Aili Schreiner at aschreiner@oregon150.org, if you have received duplicate messages. You may unsubscribe to the newsletter using the link at the bottom of this page.
As Oregon 150’s
Executive Director, I will be using this newsletter over the next few
months to keep you abreast of the Strategic Plan development and
identify ways that you can give the Board feedback as it takes shape.
In the future, the newsletter will keep you up to date on
sesquicentennial developments through 2009.
You can learn more about Oregon 150 by clicking on www.oregon150.org.
Construction of the website is ongoing but offers up to date
information on: the make up of the Board of Directors and Ex Officios, Oregon 150
staff and our contact information, previous Board meeting minutes, as
well as downloadable documents that the Board will be using to develop
a strategic plan. Soon to come is a rolling calendar of events with links to event sponsors, as well as a kid’s page and a resource page for educators.
It
is my privilege to serve a remarkable group of Board Members, including
the Honorary Chair, Governor Kulongoski. Together we look forward to a
year full of exciting statewide programming in 2009 that will offer
public and private organizations an opportunity to enhance the public’s
understanding of Oregon history, celebrate Oregon culture, and develop
a long term plan to sustain the Oregon way of life for future
generations.
Happy Holidays,
Barbara Allen
