One wintery morning two kids, one from Oregon and one visiting for the first time, went to visit family. We were hear for the weekend of Grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. My wife is from Hermingston, and visited the Gorge and specifically Hood River, quite frequently to visit Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. I instantly feel in love with the area, thinking that their is more than corn in Indiana. As our short weekend, came to an end, I felt truly sad to leave this place, but we had three kids at home waiting for us, not to mention our jobs. Nine months later, my wife graduated college, I quit my job, which was a shock to all. We packed up everyhting, left everything er knew and made the journey across the counrty from Indiana to Hood River, with a house waiting and no jobs. It will be five years this summer, we love this area in the Gorge and have no regrets on our new home, OREGON!
