The Journey to Oregon

It was one long, hot day on the farm in Morelia, Mexico. My dad was planting crops when he realized his horse was too old and weak. They needed a horse to plant crops and make money. My dad and Uncle were thinking of a way to buy a tractor, but there wasn’t a job in the city that had good pay. My grandpa was also growing old and he was too weak to plant crops by foot. They decided to drive to California. It was a long journey. When they got there, my dad worked as a farmer for four years. After they made the money, they went back to Mexico and bought the tractor. My dad met my mom and told her of the jobs and opportunities in the United Sates of America. My mom and dad got married and moved to Oregon, where dad got a job a packing strawberries and my mom worked as a cook. Soon my sister and I were born. We’re glad to call Oregon home.
