Oregon City

Oregon City, OR

You may know Oregon City as the end of the Oregon Trail, the first city incorporated in the United States west of the Mississippi, or even just a city in Oregon, but there’s a little more to it than that. Some people think it’s just a little town with a bunch of useless history, but I think if you actually went through it you would think a little bit differently.

Oregon City has been a home to me ever since I was young and I’ve always loved Oregon City since the start. I remember all the teachers I had here in Oregon City. All of them from kindergarten at Gaffney Lane Elementary School to right now as a freshman at Oregon City High School, and they always go out of their way to make sure that you don’t have any trouble with anything and they help you as much as they can. The one teacher that I know that has gone absolutely over the top is Mr. Bartman. He puts all he has into the band program and without him the band would just fall flat on its face. He is my all-time favorite teacher and he is the reason we go to competitions and parades every year. This year for marching band we are going to Victoria, Canada for the Victoria Day Parade and the Grand Floral Parade. Mr. Bartman does more for the band than he thinks he does.

Oregon City is basically a family-type town and would be a great place for anyone to live. That is part of the reason why I love it so much. I like to travel a lot to different places for variety, but it is always good to come home to Oregon City because I know it will always be home to me.
