Oregon, You Are My Home (original folksong)
by Suzanne Chimenti
Damascus, OR
I teach music at Fairview Elementary School. I wrote this song for my students. It was recorded by my band, The Mighty Filberts (known for their original Oregon songs). We were joined by a chorus of my students.

Oregon, You Are My Home (C) 2007
Mountains that beckon to heaven
Oceans with emerald foam.
Rivers that roar on the green valley floor
Oregon, you are my home
You are my home,
You are my home
Rivers that roar on the green valley floor
Oregon, you are my home
The pioneers came for your beauty
Your prairies, the Indians roamed
There’s desert sand to the east of your land
Oregon, you are my home
CHORUS
Eagles fly through your canyons
And soar over volcano domes
Salmon swim free on their way to the sea
Oregon, you are my home
CHORUS
Oregon, you are my homeland
and no matter where else I roam
My heart will be near your evergreen trees
Oregon, you are my home.
