My Oregon Song

When I first thought about writing this story I thought “this won’t be that exciting,” but I was presented with a choice to write a song and I took that option up immediately. This song tells about what Oregon is like, and if anything changed, what I would miss:

The oceans are blue
The forests are green
And the hope I keep alive for it not to change
For you of the future to have it as good as I do
This is all for you
We’ll try to keep the beaches clean
And the forests form being cleared
Because right now nature is the only thing keeping me here
I would miss the dew drops upon the grass
The subtle rain that comes to pass
And it not being so hot or cold
For being able too have that when i’m old
Would be a pleasure beyond all others
Thanks to Oregon

I’ve been in Oregon my whole life and it’s the most beautiful state I’ve ever seen, but that doesn’t say much though. I haven’t been to very many other states, but in the few states I have been, this is the best one of all. The experiences I have had here have been the best times of my life. Like when I was little, my family took Steven, my older brother, Connor, my younger brother, and myself down to the cove. We all went down to the cove by Fort Steven’s state park and we played and had fun. It was one of the most invigorating times I’ve ever had. Living on the Oregon coast has really had a great deal of influence in my life. Without living on the coast, I wouldn’t have the knowledge of the dangers of water and of not wearing sun block. Also the time to think about nature- if I grew up in a big city, I would probably be right up there with people wanting to cut down the trees to make more room for us. Living on the Oregon coast has also taught me a lesson in selfishness. If it weren’t for the trees that some people want to cut down, we wouldn’t be alive. This is my official “thank you” to Oregon for being green, beautiful, and having laws to protect trees and allowing us to live. Without this state, there would be a major change in the atmosphere we live in today. All thanks to Oregon.
